SoftLayer currently being hit by a DDoS attack

This post has received a ton of traffic lately. Please realize it is from 2007 and not a recent post. I am no longer a customer of SoftLayer and am now with MediaTemple

SoftLayer is my host and is currently being slammed by a DDoS attack so the website is up and down because of it. There’s a thread over on WebHostingTalk about the attack and watch that for more info.

    The information above is correct, earlier today SoftLayer’s website server farm did experience a 20+ Gbps DDOS attack.  In an effort to preserve the integrity of our network, we voluntarily pulled our site offline until we could resolve the issue with our carries. Service was restored shortly thereafter and no customers were directly affected by this event.
