Socially Speaking A feed of my social world

Sign of the times

I was not very shocked to read this article, Bay Area Rents Outpace Pay.  The easiest part of where we live is the fact that we don’t own a car, so we aren’t usually directly subjected to the up-and-down nature of gas prices.  The flip side of that problem is that when gas prices go up, so does everything else and that’s where we feel the pain.  It wasn’t that long ago that I would pay $2.00 for a gallon of milk, now that gallon is $4.49.

You won't soon be forgotten

I really want to get my photography business of the ground, however due to the sad state of affairs in our economy I haven’t done that.  I look around if I can’t afford any extra toys, who can?  Do you feel like you are being left behind like the shoe above?

Finally home!

Well its been a very intense summer. Meg studied for the Bar for the beginning of the Summer, then actually took the 3 day exam at the end of July. Total time that damn test from beginning of studying to taking the test was almost 10 weeks. Then at the beginning of August we headed back to Massachusetts for our fantastic wedding, then went to Aruba for our fantastic honeymoon. Lastly, yesterday we flew back to San Francisco.

To say this summer has been too fast is an understatement. However, it was one hell of a summer. I’m sad to see it coming to an end, but happy to see what lies ahead. Meg starts her job on Tuesday and I think I’ll finally be able to concentrate again for the first time in months. Hell I even read a book while in Aruba, first time in probably 4 years I was able to concentrate long enough to finish; Walk in the Woods by Bill Bryson.

As we slowly unpack we have a thousand Thank You’s to think about. But for now I’ll sign off by thanking my new wife for just being awesome. Without her this summer would have been your typical summer, but now we’ll have one to remember for the rest of our lives (and plenty of pictures and video to go with it). I love you!

And for those of you who have missed the live camera, head on over to Live in San Francisco and it should be up and running again.

See you tomorrow

See you tomorrow

Took this when Jonny was visiting, unfortunately lost the RAW file in a hard drive crash but at least still have the 1600×1071 version.

A San Franciscan Day

A San Franciscan Day from dbcohen and Vimeo.

Started the camera going at 8:50 AM and ended it just after 10 PM. The pictures were taken every 5 minutes except when I had to change batteries. Hope you enjoy.
