Took this while Sharon and Sandy were visiting and we took a cruise around SF Bay during sunset. The waves looked just awesome.

She just came back today. Paul C. thinks its a Red Tail Hawk, and I think he’s correct after this shot.
Update: Kevin says its definitely a Red Tail Hawk, but he’s not sure if its the same bird. What do you think? Click to view the picture on Zooomr and then hover over the bird to see a portal view of both bird pictures together.

Last week I happened to look out the window because something was moving and caught my eye in the back yard. The first thing I noticed were some huge wings. Well after 45 minutes of watching and taking pictures of this bird, and wondering what type of bird I was looking at, it took off. It was aiming to land on the wire that obstructs my view of the Bay. I happened to snap this shot of it in flight.
So now after some research I think it is a Golden Eagle, but I’m still not convinced. So please help me out and either send me an email or comment below on what you think it is.

Lauren, Ryan and Will visit to SF, originally uploaded by dabammer.
Lauren, Ryan and Will are in town for a little over a week. We got to spend some time with them showing them around Fisherman’s Wharf, Ghirardelli Square, Pier 39 (Will loved the Sea Lions), Chinatown and a bit of Golden Gate Park on Saturday and Sunday before they went up to Sonoma County for the conference Ryan will be presenting at. Looking forward to seeing them again next Monday and Tuesday.
For more pictures from the weekend expedition see this set.
