Tired of seeing friend1 added friend2 on the Zooomr Zipline

So now that we have markup on the table row I was able to write a Greasemonkey/Stylish script to hide friend1 added friend2.  Go get it at http://userstyles.org/styles/4208

Zooomr Users, leave your URL in the comments

I would love to track many people on the Zipline so all you Zooomr users out there leave a comment with the link to your user profile in the comments.  It should look something like http://beta.zooomr.com/people/dbcohen/ <– that’s me if you want to reciprocate.

Zooomr Mark III Impressions

Now that Mark III is out the door for good (fingers crossed) I thought I would give some thoughts on it so far:

  • After all the problems with photos being used for and by individuals who didn’t have rights and/or permission to use the photos, I’m shocked to see that there’s no way to set a license for each photo.
  • I don’t understand why this statement exists at the bottom of the site

“User-posted content, unless otherwise implied, is licensed under a Creative Commons Public Domain License.”

Without the ability to set a license for each photo you can almost guarantee that the majority of photos on Zooomr will fall into this clause. Sorry but I disagree that my photos are public domain and this is part of the reason why photos get stolen all the time. People just assume that photos on the web are public domain.  They removed it, thanks guys!

  • Zipline is cool, it needs an RSS feed and would be even better when I can update it via IM
  • Although Stephen Cohen of jUploadr was hanging out over in the Zooomr HQ updating jUploadr, there’s still no download that I can find that works with Mark III
  • I really wish I could change my picture in my profile
  • Still can’t find the docs for the API, links from http://api.zooomr.com turn up pages not found.

That’s all I got for right now, I need to get some sleep after a crappy plane flight.
