How do the NFL Playoffs work?

Basically comes down to 6 teams in each division.  The top 2 teams in each division get bye’s for the first round, meaning they don’t have to play the first week of the playoffs.  There are 4 division winners and 2 Wild Card teams.  The Wild Card teams are the teams with the best records, but weren’t good enough to win their division.

The first round of playoffs consists of the 2 Wild Card teams and the 2 division winners who do not have the top 2 won-loss records.

The second round of the playoffs consist of the top 2 teams hosting the winners of the first round.

Then you have the AFC and NFC championship games, and they consist of the teams who won their games in round 2.

Lastly you have the Superbowl, and the teams that play here are the NFC and AFC champions.

Why did I post this, to see if I can overtake technosailor for superiority of course :) .  See this tweet for more info.
